How to be a more efficient writer
Intro
In part 1 (found here) I talked about some great books to hone your craft and to deal with procrastination.
Among them was Stephen King’s “On Writing” which states rain, hail or shine, he commits to writing 2000 words a day. But what does that even mean in terms of time and effort? Is it 1 hour or 10 hours? I am sure many of us imagine retiring to a cabin in the woods and, distraction free, pumping out copious pages every single day. But life happens. You might only have an hour a day to write, or even half an hour. So you need to learn to be efficient and effective and live guilt free. Writing can be part of your life. It should never be writing or a life. Let’s pick up the pace.
Plotter vs Pantser.
There are two main types of writers. There are some hybrid mixes between the two too.
Essentially there are some people who draft out every scene, every plot twist and create incredible world building, before they begin the novel writing process. These are the plotters.
