You are absolutely right, Jews should not have been buying land from Ottomans and Arab absentee land owners. And of course Ottomans took the land by imperial conquest from Arabs who took it by imperial conquest from Byzantines/Romans who took it by imperial conquest from Jews. Us Jews never gave up our claim on the land, did not sell it, and it was more than generous that we offered to buy back any of it.
