There were different waves of thr Islamic conquest of the Iberian peninsula, one leading to "the golden age of Judaism" but when the Almochades swept in, which was when Maimonides fled to Morocco, things were very different. That was in 1148. In the 1400s the Spanish started to drive the Muslims out of Spain then in 1492 decided to expel us Jews too. Thanks for the heads up.
