Whether in business or politics, there is a certain point where being brash, a maverick and outspoken does wonders. You build something then you should, essentially, rest on your laurels and chill. But that personality type, which Trump, Putin, Erdogan and Elon possess- just can't stop and being content. And do everything in their power to destroy their own brand and potential legacy.

For Elon, the chaos over his supercharger network right on the crusp of victory- when other US manufacturers have signed on to his charging system- is his biggest faux paus. Without continued roll out, queues for his chargers are going to be off putting and make more people reluctant to purchase his vehicle. The best thing for the superchargers would be to be spun off into its own company- which would attract all kinds of government money and cement Tesla as the vehicle to have. Robotaxis no one is really that interested in, it is a fun novelty where they exist. His free speech absolutist- but please don't criticise me- stance on twitter(coz no one calls it X) is also fantastic brand destruction when it is left leaning environmental people more likely to go electric, while his right wing audience who loves his antics- are reluctant to give up their gas guzzlers.

There was a time I deeply admired him, but then there was a time I was a real estate agent and admired Trump the property developer too.

Now I mostly eat popcorn. Elon won't take us to Mars, can you imagine FSD on a spaceship?
