How do you like em apples?

It has been an interesting few weeks, with Ukraine asserting its ancestral lands over former Kievan Rus.

In 2022, Russia was the 2nd most powerful military in the world.

In 2023, Russia was the 2nd most powerful military in Ukraine.

In 2024, Russia seems to be the 2nd most powerful military in Russia.

Ukraine’s sphere of influence must be respected. In 1994, Russia pledged it would not expand westward and recognized Ukraine’s land and sovereignty, including Crimea. It makes sense, now, to create a buffer zone between these two countries- and Ukraine is generously offering Kursk and Belgograd oblasts as such zones. Considering these areas once had a significant amount of Ukrainian speakers, asserting control over these lands seems fair and reasonable.

There is no suggestion, at this stage, that Kuban, Krasnodarski Krai, which was founded by Ukrainian Cossacks- should join this buffer zone. This comes down to the sheer generosity of the Ukrainian people. Besides, upkeep of the former Olympic village at Sochi, Ukraine, would be a drain on the purse.

Ukranian soldiers have been leaving reviews at restaurants, hotels and gas stations, as they advance to liberate Kursk locals. Belgograd is home…
