There is about 9 million more women then men in Russia, but this stat is skewered by the fact women live considerably longer than men there. Apart from conflicts, there isn’t the same standards of workplace health and safety plus some crazy driving etc. Still, at typical marriagable age the numbers are roughly even. But the divorce rate is on par with the West and both the abortion rate and number of orphans(many with actual living parents) is considerable. There is plenty of stigma too about single mothers and it is not easy to find a new partner, when plenty of other childless women are available. It certainly won’t be easy for my friend.
