The canal was cut off in 2014 after the Russian annexation so that only takes things back to how they were before. And the Kerch bridge is relatively new, prior to that ferries ran from the Taman peninsula to Crimea. Much less efficient but still not a reason in itself to abandon Crimea. Bombs and blasts will be a more likely motivator to leave.
