Shukren for the article. It was an interesting read, contrasting different points of view. I do find it curious the anti-Shiite angle to it, stating this is the Shiite way not the Sunni way, where Sunni encompasses such a broad group of people who act one way or another- from the best of people to the worst.

And a real stretch to say the current regime in Iran is some tool of the West. Sure you could say that under the Shah and be a fair comoment.

In terms of helping the Palestinians- depending on your definition of "help" , certainly the Iranians have poked Israel and supplied weapons etc far more than the Sunni world.

As for Sinwar being a rat and a coward- I'm as Zionist as they come but I would not use those terms to describe him. And if he was this rat, what would it make Nasrallah who was not seen in public for much longer?

When we talk about tools, I would look less at Iran and more at Sinwar. Thanks to his "heroic brilliance" of October 7, Israel is in Gaza, a Gaza largely flattened, with thousands dead and infrastrucure in rubble. He either didn't expect Israel's response, which would make him a fool, or he did expect it and felt thousands dead and Gaza in ruins was worth it to have some university students in the West protest. Either way would not make him a hero, but using tunnels against a superior military power is not a sign of cowardice. This isn't Waterloo with pretty rows of soldiers lined up on the battlefield shooting at each other.
