Prigozhin, Putin and the Big Pelmeni.

Sometimes you need to read news about Russia with Benny Hill music playing in the background. Other times it resembles a 3 Stooges skit.

What we know about the little march on Moscow and its after effects is quite limited because even Russians and possibly Putin don’t know either.

What does seem likely to be true, is that the FSB were aware of the march on Rostov days prior and thus Prigozhin’s plan to confront and possibly hold Gerasimov and Shoigu were foiled. The latter two were supposedly planning to visit the Southern Command centre there at the time, though that could have been a ruse.

There is nothing original under the sun and much of this march or attempted coup, plays like the ‘attempted coup’ in Turkiye in 2016- probably one of the worst coup attempts in world history. It was a laughable attempt that allowed Erdogan to consolidate power and to wage his war on the so called Deep State( a term coined there long before before being borrowed by American politics). He used this attempt to decimate his army ranks, journalists, teachers and tens of thousands more- including several of my friends who are still in jail there till this day. The crazy thing is that many of my friends there were his supporters and apologists but were still not deemed…
