Point is no one knows and we are just theorising - but they have left no DNA trace in living people. Their DNA has been found in a few skeletons which confirm their southern European origins. The surrounding people of their time of disappearance would be more likely to be Egyptian- who ruled Phillista. Certainly no genetic history among other people in the Levant.
And don't put words in my mouth, thanks. The return of Jews to the Levant to re-create their nation state, is the most successful example of self determination by an indigenous people ever. 20% of Israel's population are Palestinians, Bedouin and Druze who embraced that to form a country together. The rest were led by pan-arabists who could never accept Jews as equals- we have 1400 years of receipts of treatment by many of them, including pogroms in Palestine long before Zionism was even coined.
