Palestinians- the Chosen people

They are who they are

Both sides of the conflict between Israel and Palestine have their own narratives, own “truths” and have people locked into their own ideologies.

There are few fence sitters- this is a hot topic that most people in the World seem to have an opinion on.

What we need to recognise is that this conflict is very important and also deeply personal for a lot of people.

Now we can argue, rather objectively, that the deaths in the entire conflict over 75+ years is a fraction of the deaths in Yemen, Syria, Sudan or even Ukraine. That can be absolutely true and if you or yours die in such conflict, I am sorry that death just isn’t so important in the collective conscious of humanity. Is it fair? Probably not. It is what it is.

You can be smug and talk about LGBTQI rights in Palestine and hypocritical attitudes of “Queers for Palestine” et al. If you want broader strokes, you could make arguments about various incarnations of Islam. You can shout all that to your echo chamber and get all the likes or commentary that you heart desires.

But the writing is on the proverbial (separation) wall and wannabe Kings like Netanyahu just don’t seem to grasp it. Palestinians are different.
