It is you who is ignorant. There was no wider region, why would people be discussing a wider region? That is not common life at the time. It was Judea and Samaria etc. The Romans renaming an administrative region of Palestine in 135CE has nothing to do with what locals called it. And why the fark would Jews in that region call their region after their arch enemies, the Phillistines? It is as silly as Americans deciding to call their own country North Korea.

Your problem is you view this all through a colonial mindset.
