It is very interesting and here in Australia, you see both Tesla and Chinese built vehicles(EV and not EV) absolutely everywhere. About a third of Australians are considering EV as their next vehicle. On leasing plans, the government gives a $8500 credit for any EV under about $80k AUD.
For most of Australia, even with our huge States, range anxiety is largely a thing of the past, with a roll out of chargers along all major routes.
Still, the ultimate for me is a hybrid at the moment that has a 60km+ range on full electric. This allows you to commute to work as electric, and go to more remote places for camping etc or tow, without range anxiety.
The other elephant in the room is repair costs- which affects insurance premiums and the take up(as Hertz learnt) of EVs for fleets.
But, in general, I am a fan of EV and all the bells and whistles that come with modern cars like adaptive cruise control, radars etc.
Plus the performance levels of many EVs is a whole lot of fun.
