It IS embarassing that you are so clueless. Ashkenazi have the luxury, especially in galut(exile) of being all kinds of flavours of Zionism and Anti-Zionism etc.

The groups who do not have that luxury, are the people who make up the majority of the population of Israel, more than 55% of Jews there- the Sephardi and Mizrachi. Many weren't so inclined to go to some Ottoman backwater with mosquito filled swamps, but Arab intolerance towards some uppity Jews there, spread throughout the whole region- and 850,000 Jews were forced to flee Arab lands and now make up the bulk of Israel. And they will never be under the yoke of Arab rulers again. Like I said, there is 1400 years of receipts of mistreatment.
