Israel and Gaza- some perspective

I won’t be able to change your mind

The events of the last week have been horrific and grim.

An estimated 1000 HAMAS operatives crossed into Israel, by land, by sea and even using paragliders, and slaughtered hundreds at point blank range.

The greater tragedy is that this changes absolutely nothing for us sitting back in our armchairs. If you are a supporter of Israel then you are outraged by this. If you are a supporter of Palestinian causes, then this is the price of occupation. I see posts by some that claim to have been neutral or sitting on the fence, who say because of this they have lost sympathy for Palestinians etc. I am sorry, I don’t believe you. That’s just marketing for likes and shares. Your opinion was made up way before this.

The death of over 900 Israelis plus residents of Israel is all about the audience. The pro-Palestinian crowd won’t be worried about that, they will be worried about Israel’s response. They were not the intended audience. The intended audience is firstly Israelis and secondly to show their bona fides as a resistance movement to the Islamic world and continue to get funding.

Other statements made, like some “all lives matter” mantra is to say “not all Palestinians” support HAMAS. No, certainly many don’t, some even think HAMAS…
