Yet, it ignores the long tradition of pilots volunteering for such conflicts. Even French pilots fought in the Soviet Union against the Germans. Pilots are highly specialised, but Ukraine has plenty of foreign volunteers in legions. And I think back to great writers like Hemingway and Orwell who picked up guns to fight for foreign causes like the Spanish Civil war against the Fascists. So trying to make some patriotic argument is a bit on the nose.
