I have dear friends in Kyiv myself. Probably the safest place in Ukraine just now. Russians really don’t care much about the rest of Ukraine except Crimea and probably Odesa. But Kyiv is sacred to the myth and narrative of the foundation of the Russian state. Nuking it would stab at the heart of every Russian and would end Putin instantly. Anything else, unfortunately, is in play.
