I am on the other side and don't agree with many of the assertions and things left out. But in the way forward we are largely in agreeance.
The PA has a shockingly low approval rating and would lose to HAMAS even in the West Bank. HAMAS has approval ratings that most western politicians could dream of. Israel cannot accept HAMAS taking over the West Bank- able to lob rockets on Ben Gurion at leisure. The PA controlling things can't remain forever as a dictatorship. Palestinians need leadership that is assertive, not propped up by Israel, and can be in control of both the West Bank and Gaza, otherwise 2 states are impossible. Personally I, and a growing number on both sides, favour either one state or a federation. But I recognize the political reality of everyone pushing for 2 states, and if I am wrong, and it brings peace, then I would be truly happy.
