Fun fact: 50 years before Zionism, Jews bought land in Palestine legally and were attacked. 400 years before Zionism, my family was driven out of Palestine-where they had been for thousands of years- by a pogrom.
In 1695, the census of 2500 settlements of Palestine showed all major towns were Jewish majority, with the rest being Christians who were Arabs, Armenians and many others. Almost no Muslims in the entire place.
After Zionism, suddenly people emerged-and the British reported tens of thousands crossing into the region- and these Arabs joined what is known as the Palestinains today. With surnames like Al Yemeni, Al Baghdadi, Al Masri(the Egyptian).
The bible says it is ours, the Quran says it is ours, the historical and archaeological record says it is ours, the names of every town in the region are Hebrew names. It doesn't mean it needs to be for us exclusively but please don't talk about stolen land. This conflict is about Jews daring to be equals and not under the thumb as second class citizens like they were for 1400 years. This is about Jews having self-determination in their ancestral homeland. Yet Jews from 1937 onwards have offered half a dozen times a Palestinian state without Jews, for those Palestinians who just can't handle living with Jews. 20% of Israel's population is Palestinains who say they can.
